What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a combination of training and nutrition that has been proven to improve fitness and health for people of all ages and levels. CrossFit is based on the first scientifically supported definition of fitness: the program delivers visible results that are measurable and reproducible. You can do CrossFit with a certified CrossFit trainer or within a supportive and motivating community at an accredited CrossFit affiliate.
Yes! CrossFit is the program that gets you in shape. Regardless of your current fitness level, you can always start with CrossFit. As you become fitter and faster, you can adjust the workouts to make them increasingly challenging. Every training session is designed to help you succeed, improve your fitness, and bring you closer to your goals.

CrossFit can be a valuable fitness option thanks to its varied workouts, strong community, and focus on functional movements. The high intensity can improve cardiovascular health and overall fitness. However, potential downsides include an increased risk of injury, a one-size-fits-all approach, and a lack of structured periodization.
It is important to consult a healthcare professional before starting, to learn and maintain proper technique to minimize injury risks, and to listen carefully to your body’s signals. The competitive atmosphere within CrossFit is not suitable for everyone. Finding a balance that aligns with personal goals, ensures safety, and allows for long-term participation is essential. When practiced with enjoyment and mindfulness, CrossFit can be a healthy way for many people to achieve their fitness goals.

Yes. CrossFit training is very safe. We believe that sitting on the couch is actually more dangerous. At Dom City, certified trainers provide clear instructions and personal coaching to help members move safely and efficiently. Our coaches have the knowledge and skills to guide every member.

We offer scaling options for every level, and no injury needs to completely stop you from training. In many cases, movement is actually the path to recovery and better health.

It depends on your goals. For beginners, we advise starting with two training sessions per week. Your body first needs to get used to the movements and intensity. In addition, it takes time (about three months) to build a new habit.

When you want to master all CrossFit movements, most members move on to a minimum of three training sessions per week. All memberships at Dom City are based on a four-week contract, making it easy to upgrade or downgrade.

Yes, absolutely. We want all our members to be able to participate in classes even with an injury. Our coaches always have a safe option to adapt the training. We have additional safety equipment for members with an injury, such as a safety bar that allows you to squat with a wrist or arm injury.

If you can come to the box, we can put together a training session together that is both challenging and safe.

Yes, CrossFit can be an effective way to lose weight. The intensive workouts result in high calorie burning, improved metabolism, and fat loss. CrossFit combines cardio training, strength training, and functional movements, which contributes to a high total energy expenditure and promotes weight loss.

Yes. Anyone can do CrossFit, regardless of age, injuries, or current fitness level. The program is adapted per person to make you healthier and fitter in a safe way. Try it for yourself during our free trial class.

How can I upgrade/downgrade my current membership?

Send us an email via info@crossfitdomcity.com to upgrade your membership and we will process the change immediately. For downgrades, we ask you to notify us at least 7 days before the end of your 4-week period. The change will take effect from the next period.

We’re sorry to see you go! To cancel your membership, you can email us at info@crossfitdomcity.com. After the end of your current period, we will invoice one additional period of four weeks, meaning the exact notice period may vary.

Yes, you can pause your membership. The periode has to be for 4 weeks or longer. To pause your membership, send us an email at info@crossfitdomcity.com no later than 7 days before the end of your current 4-week period. It is not possible to pause during your current period.

You will still pay the full amount for your current period, but your next invoice will be postponed by the number of days you have paused your membership.

We have multiple options depending on your situation:

  • Injury to a body part (e.g., knee, shoulder, lower back): You can still join our classes. Our coaches are experienced in scaling and reprogramming workouts based on specific injuries. We truly believe that adjusted training can help you recover faster.
  • Overall discomfort or mental health concerns: Please contact us, and we’ll work together to find a solution. Scaling down your membership to a Functional or Open Gym only membership might be beneficial.
  • Injury preventing all training: If you have an injury that completely stops you from training, we can always pause your membership.

Although it is common in many CrossFit boxes to take your shirt off during training, we introduced a no shirts off policy years ago to ensure everyone feels comfortable. When multiple members indicated they did not feel comfortable during shirtless training sessions, it became clear the solution was simple. At CrossFit Dom City, inclusivity is a core value and we are proud of an environment where everyone can be themselves. Our no shirts off policy supports this principle.

Beyond comfort, hygiene also plays an important role. Excessive sweating on the floor and equipment is unhygienic. It is therefore a good idea to bring an extra clean shirt for after the workout, especially if you sweat a lot and still need to cycle home. This way we keep the box clean and pleasant for everyone together.

Men are required to wear a T-shirt or tank top. Women wear a shirt or tank top with a sports bra underneath, so that two layers of clothing are always worn.

No problem! This change works the same as upgrading or downgrading a membership. Send us an email at info@crossfitdomcity.com to adjust your membership. Please notify us at least 7 days before the end of your 4-week period. The change will take effect from the next period.

Our goal is for our coaches to post the programming for the upcoming week in the Dom City app on Sunday afternoon. Because life can sometimes be unpredictable, it may occasionally be posted a little later.

We use two different late cancellation deadlines:

  • Morning classes (including open gym): 12-hour deadline. You must unregister the evening before if you want to cancel.
  • Afternoon and evening classes: 2-hour deadline.

When you cancel within these deadlines, you lose a credit and cannot switch to another class within that period. Therefore, make sure to unregister or reschedule on time to avoid inconvenience for your coach.

As a member you can attend one class and one open gym hour per day. To ensure there is sufficient space for everyone, the number of classes per day is limited to one per member.
